a glorious day was had! the hubby, resigning from that slaveduty he served for long enough, spent the whole day with his two girls! the l.o. was in such a happy mood to be with her favourite person in the world! surprisingly enough, she did not cry once while we were out! ho-ho! as a reward she got a basket of meat [yes, it's true, but it's all plastic, haha. she likes the hotdog! lol]

on baby wearing- do not carry around a twenty pound baby in a baby björn for an extended period of time. your back will thank you! i am now in the market for a side sling, and i think i know just the place to get it :3 hooray for the great diaper hunt discounts! speaking of which, i have not received my sampler pack, which is quite unfortunate. i will have to email the moderator and ask her what gives.

anaïs had her first steak today! and a fine one to boot! this little angel is making me go crazy with her love *_*

hubby claims that i sleep way too much, to which i shrug and turn around to continue my snooze. i LOVE to sleep, just like 99.99% of people i know, and if i have a chance, i will take it. who knows if tonight i will not get any at all! at least i am prepared for any possibility!

if you mummy and daddys do not know, there is a series of music called rock a bye baby, and it features a lot of great lullaby renditions by such greats as smashing pumpkins, the beatles, pink floyd, björk, led zepellin, etc. i mean, it beats the usual brahms lullaby on those nights when you are about to lose your mind having to hear it one more time, haha!

anaïs has gotten into the habit of not wanting to fall asleep while she feeds. she had this down to an art, and it saved me some time to do mummy things. now she requires to be rocked, or placed on top of me to fall asleep, which was the case when she was itty bitty. it's adorable, nonetheless, i don't mind it, plus, it gives me a chance to feel her little heart beating close to mine <3

i have been attempting to learn to knit for about a week, and i believe the needles i bought are too small a gauge for my clumsy hands! i have been attempting and trying so hard, because i would like to knit her and the newborns some longsies for the winter :\ knowing me i'll get around to it once summer rolls in, because, gods know i'm the ruler of the procrasti nation!

random stuff #1 - contraception gone mad

as a breastfed baby, my little dumpling is quite attached to me [no pun intended] and has been giving me quite a run for my money as far as food goes. part of the reason, i know, is because of her dentition [bka teeeeething], which, sadly, inhibits her from enjoying chewing because of the incredulous pain [remember your wisdom teeth?]. some days [rarely] she'll eat, but most of the time, it never fails. myself or the grandmum prepare her an AMAZING meal fit for a queen, full of healthy, nutritious bits and oh-so-scrumptious. either a.) she will take one....two....three....four spoonfuls, and that's it, or b.) she'll turn her head. both are frustrating, but the saddest one is the latter, haha.

well, today folks, she decided to eat! she had three square meals!!!! first course was after her morning nap, which she needed desperately [as well as mumma], after the previous night [seriously, staying up from 2-4 am, singing in the middle of the night and sitting up to play over, and over again, especially with me next to her, is tiring. the rocking chair is your friend, folks! but that's a different story altogether~]. well, her meal, again, she loved, it consisted of mostly white foods!!! haha, banana, an arepa [think corn patty, looking like a flying saucer. my family is venezuelan], and some yoghurt! second meal was after her afternoon walk [which i will get into shortly]- pumpkin soup, with yoghurt, a cracker, and a peach. and lastly, pre-bedtime, some pastina, and cranberries, numnum!

please forgive me for sounding dreadfully boring at that part, but i'm quite proud of her, considering she rarely eats!

ah yes, her afternoon walk. post-daylight savings has been my friend, because the time is best, now, after her last nap! the afternoons have been so crisp here lately, and it's hoodie weather! the neighborhood is so peaceful and full of children running after the icecream truck [suburbia!]. well, within my neighborhood there is a grand lake with houses all around. there are lots of flora and fauna [bunnies...ducks...GEESE]. four wretched geese are the perdition of the pond. you can hear them a mile away, baying proudly, flapping their wings, and scaring away the ducks. these awful creatures are the dismay of all who encircle the pond. they come out of nowhere, with their horrible sound, moving quickly towards you, hoping to scare you away.

i am not afraid of animals, and to say the least, these guys never bothered me. but today i just had this gut feeling and had a nice whacking stick at my hip, ready to plonk it over the head, shortly being attacked by peta fanatics for being "cruel". well, sure enough, as i approached their area, they came running, swooping at me with their obnoxious necks coursing about. i managed to scare away the two smaller ones by just walking by and ignoring them [as my usual manner], but the biggest male and the counterpart mate had no mercy on me this time. they stopped dead in front of me and would not move. i attempted to go around them, and they moved towards me, ready to strike. i poked the male with a stick, and he did not like it one bit, and started flapping his wings like if he was one big shot. i shrugged, picked up the stroller, baby and all, and stomped away, cursing the egg they sprung forth from.

well, today was quite exciting for this mummy, so cheers!

greetings readers, this will be another documentation of a stay-at-home-mom with a bit of time on her hands during baby's nap-time. i will attempt to make this enjoyable for both parents and non-parents; not focusing on silly little details and documenting everything, so you're safe. i will begin by boring you with details so this blog-reader-meet-author will be most simplest for you.

<* initialize details >

my name is carol, i am 27 and a first-time mom; somewhat obsessive-compulsive, and quite a germophile. i have been happily married for eight years with my first true love. i became pregnant under unplanned situations, which made it more fun and exciting than anything; everybody loves surprises!

my daughter anaïs is nine months old and is currently attempting to stand on her own. she has managed to stay unassisted, in midair, for about ten seconds at a time before falling on her bum. she is a big-time vocalizer, and a loudmouth at that. an overly happy child, thank goodness, that enjoys people over her playpen.

she is a cloth-diapered, co-sleeping baby; yes, another attachment parenting nut for you ^_^ it's quite fun, i highly recommend it! some say my methods mean madness, but i have a lot of time on my hands and love doing diaper duty and napping away with the little one.

i have been breastfeeding since day one, and both she and i enjoy this bonding. she is extremely picky as far as food goes and will go through spells of not eating for days on end. she is fine though, gaining weight steadily.

now that we got that out of the way, the next posts should be a bit more entertaining! cheers!
