happy christmas! we has snow yesterday and today!!!! we took pictures, which are yet to be posted <3 spent the last two days with the family, stuffing our faces and playing with the four precious angels <3 had a wonderful time, thank you all <3

guess who points now? you wouldn't believe what a relief this is, because now i absolutely understand what nini wants then and there! tonight she pointed at her crib while we read books...i thought it was odd, because she LOVES to read, but she was letting me now she was hungry and wanted to sleep! speaking of books, she has many which are read on a nightly basis, and if i start narrating one when they are close by, she will crawl over and bring it to me. IT NEVER FAILS. what a beautiful little gift she is.

anaïs turned 11 months yesterday, and i cannot repeat this enough : the time passes by so quickly, so be greedy and keep them all to yourself as much as possible. every waking moment for me is like heaven with my little one. i am both happy and sad that she is slowly, yet surely, becoming more and more self sufficient each day :*)

to celebrate her eleven months, she got a bunch of new toys to play with, including a fisher-price"computer". this thing is amazing.

we also went to lake dallas, which is HUGE. a great time was had, and she played on the slide and rode the swings!!!

today we took a trip out to downtown plano to see it. we stopped by a triumph dwalership, because the hubby is looking to invest in a new toy, hehe. lots of pretty machines, purr. the actual downtown is small and charming, but nothing like mckinney, although, downtown plano has a superior doll store :3

and finally...delicious fruit!

nini had hew first taste of whole milk today in the form of cream of wheat. wasn't too fond of it. i made a homemade pizza [and i mean the homemade part -- all but the cheese was prepared from scratch]. it is very healthy and delicious with whole wheat dough and veggies! anaïs LOVED it. <3 my pretty girl. she was very hissy fittish today! she threw some tantrums here and there! she's been climbing the stairs a lot. she loves it <3 giggling the whole way up.

she has started waving for hello and goodbye, and even calls me over with a little wave. it's very precious. and now she "reads" all by herself <3 i love this little brussels sprout<3

tomorrow she turns eleven months old. my...how the time passes ;_; i feel something positive in the air...maybe she'll walk :D she's been trying all day!

i'm a bit behind on my posts, so i have a bit of catching up to do!

for starters, i have been keeping up with my fertility charting pretty well. i have two more cycles of tracking before i start planning furthermore!

anaïs has been eating better. as a matter of fact, she had a ton of baked christmas ham on sunday for dinner with the rest of the family. she kept raking it into her little chompers, so i kept feeding her! she seems to love pork o_O pork, pasta, cheese, and bread!

as far as the sleeping, she got over her crib strike finally and sleeps all her naps in there! yay! mommy time!

today was a very active day for her. she crawled ALL OVER, and would throw a fit if you moved her from her trailed destination, lol. of course, this would be when she'd try to yank a cord here, or grab a dirty shoe there, you know, liable reasons. oh, she almost fell into her bath tub today. she would have flipped over had we not been careful. it would have been pretty crazy, so thank goodness nothing occurred.

i miss the hubs. he's been on the road all day. i can't wait to give hima big warm squeeze tonight <3

today was quite pleasant out, so we took the brussels sprout out for a while. since it was chilly, we went to the mall, and there she rode her first carousel!!!! it was very nice because at first i wanted to take her, but had no cash on me, so i stood by the arousel and we watched as it went 'round. well, this family must've seen the excitement on her face and he gave me an extra token he had :D it was very nice! and then, after she went on her first round, the operator asked us to stay for another! the first ride was on one of those carriage-looking ones, and the second she sat on a horse! daddy didn't take a picture though :( she had such a blast! i am planning on taking the holiday spirit family pic sometime this week to send out the card next. i have to hurry ;_;

greatness!!! hubby got the job :D he will either start mid-month or next!!!! hurrah!!!!

little one is still stuffed up. she is so needy right now. it took me almost half an hour to put her down into her bed. she would be fast asleep and all of a sudden she'd start complaining. i have put a pillow for inclination for any secretions to come out easier.

today hubby has a champagne tasting. we'll be going downtown for this. hopefully anaïs is uo for it :3

hubby went to the interview today. he said it went very well. it's all a matter of patience and waiting till the call tomorrow. i am praying to all those entities i believe in ;_; i have a good feeling!

little one feels better today. she is taking her long nap right now :3 i am doing laundry with my organic pumpkin soap, mmmm! she wore her new tights, jean skirt, turtleneck and peasant blouse today, with a hat and coat to match. she looked PERFECT. i will have to post a picture!

today i realized just how short a time they stay so little. holding my angel in my arms as she slept, i started crying, i mostly blame my hormonal imbalances at this time of the month, but i was truly sad that she is going to be walking on her own in a few weeks, and eventually running off to get married years down the road. oh god, i am a mess, haha, but i have enjoyed my little sprout in all her stages, but i think right now has been the prettiest stage because she interacts at all times <3

she feels a lot better today. it was cold out, and i wanted to take her for a walk, but decided to hit the mall instead of the sidewalk :3 we went with daddy and had a lovely time. we shared a pretzel, and daddy had a coffee and kolache <3 daddy got an interview for mcafee tomorrow, and we have our fingers crossed ^_^ this job will secure us very well and we will in the long run be able to move out, pay things off, save a lot, and buy our own place in a couple of years :3 i'm very excited!

i cannot express how chopin is the soundtrack to my life. this man rips my heart out, plucks the heartstrings beautifully, shoves it back in my chest, and sews it shut with his melodies. omg, it's so beautiful and dismal and hopeless. reminds me a lot about the past, i don't know why, especially his nocturnes. so, so pretty <3 i am excited about anaïs learning an instrument, hopefully she likes them like her daddy, and she can play chopin for me on piano. i think i would die the day that happened. it will, i just know it.

today we went to downtown mckinney for the first time. it is quite charming and quaint. there are a lot of mom & pop stores [including an awesome candystore!], and the buildings are ancient. it is simply beautiful. they are having a dicken's xmas there and we are totally going!

we had a bite to eat at churchill's [not the one in miami, haha]. it was reasonably priced and alright pub fare! as far as whetting the whistle, i had a pear cider...with a straw, haha!

i got my diaper hunt sponsor pack today!!!! FINALLY!

the common man - you are awesome.

chicka-boom!

my morning ritual:
1. anaïs wakes up, to which i try 100 ways to get her back to sleep.
2. she finally falls asleep...no, just kidding, there she goes again.
3. diaper change - wake up daddy to watch her while i stumble blindly around room gathering necessities.
4. diaper changed after five minutes of quelling the unruly little angel, hehe.
5. she sits, talks, slaps mommy, climbs mommy, plays with window curtain, tries to take iphone from daddy, slaps mommy again. mommy gets in about five minutes of sleep through this all.
6.  mommy is finally up - she wants up too.
7. grabs baby, grab very heavy baby, he-he, warble to closet, pick out clothes, put baby in crib. dress.
8. shoes.
9. five minutes later....
10. finally got shoes on. mommy gets dressed, anaïs gets impatient, starts complaining.
11. mommy complains to daddy, jumping about in her jeans, trying to get dressed, she gives up looking good, throws on sweats, and ambles downstairs, haha.

a bit of an absence, i know, i know. this week was pretty busy for me. idk why :\ a lot happened in the last few days! for one, we finally went on our playdate with zach and his parents! we stopped by at a local park and took a walk around the lake. it was quite enjoyable out, and the babes loved it! hopefully it will be repeated!

teeto is finally here! he is BEAUTIFUL and HUGE! almost as long as the little one, i'd say off by a couple of inches. anaïs wants to play with him, but alas, he's still tiny ;_; pretty soon though he too will be up and crawling, heehee.

she stood up for a full half minute this tuesday!!! it was very surprising, and she looked so accomplished! i feel it coming, the walking...the talking...oh dear.

well, hello weekend, here i come!!!

crib built, bedding laid out, baby asleep ;)

this is a test run to see if she can at least stay there for, oh, two hours ^_^ tomorrow will be the day she begins to sleep her naps in her bitty bed. i plan on transitioning her to sleep the night gradually. for the record: I AM NOT GOING TO LET HER CRY IT OUT. that is cruel and unnecessary. i know i will be losing sleep, but that's fine. i don't need it <3

#9

last night anaïs went to her first soccer game :) it was the inferno team playing, which is a local peewee league. we lost, but it was a lot of fun. we saw our cousins and the kids, which played a whole lot with my little bub. she was really excited to be sorrounded by so many children! she would dance and scream and clap because of all the joy! i'll have to post pictures once they are available!

i really want number #2 at this point :\ pretty soon she'll start asking me for a little brother or sister and then we'll have to get to work double-time. i have started arranging my schedule for the "big day" each month. i officially start this period, and will keep to it daily for about three months to get it just right. i am determined to be pregnant by april ^_^ maybe they'll have birthdays really close together! that would be cute<3

today we are going to build the crib. i've already begun rearranging our closet so we can start packing away un-used things. i made a bag of baby clothes that will be put in the attic. i got all teary-eyed just looking at all of the little clothes, hehe.

last night the hubby gave me a really nice treat ;) thank you dear! well, back to mummy things!

little one has been on a kiss blowing spree these last few days. she wakes up blowing kisses and goes to sleep blowing kisses, hehe. it's adorable and i'm in love with that babyhead <3 had my first tastes of the coming months today when nahleen went to an appointment and mami and i were watching the twins ^_^ it's gunna be fun being a nanny, lol.

i am a little sad because i've come to realize all my bodily pains i've experienced as of late is due to cosleeping with anaïs :( which means we will be putting her in a crib very soon. :( my heart is very, very,very heavy, even though she will still be in the same room, i will not feel her warm litte feet pressed against my tummy *_* the transitioning will prove a challenge, and i just know i will not sleep for a week ;_;

she seems to have started teething again, so her appetite has gone down the drain. oh, the perils of being a mumma :(

today was a day full of excitement for us! to start, baby stood up three times in a row right after waking up! it was quite the feat! then in the afternoon dada, mumma, and anaïs all went to a new park close by! we had a wonderful walk and saw a lot of birds and trees! the little one got to see her first dandelion and it made her crack up :3

she stayed up late tonight because she was all riled up and wanting to eat a whole lot! she had some delicious homemade baby minestrone, yumyum!

tomorrow i cannot sleep my extra hour as usual, because the hubby and in-law will be out of the house, so there are no extra hands. sigh, i guess i should get to bed! goodnight!

happy first month to the little cousins! yay!!!!

spent the afternoon at the local mall [bad idea on a sunday]. did not buy anything for myself, hubby got a much-needed phone case, and anaïs got some new kicks, which i will post a picture of later! oh joy!!!!

a glorious day was had! the hubby, resigning from that slaveduty he served for long enough, spent the whole day with his two girls! the l.o. was in such a happy mood to be with her favourite person in the world! surprisingly enough, she did not cry once while we were out! ho-ho! as a reward she got a basket of meat [yes, it's true, but it's all plastic, haha. she likes the hotdog! lol]

on baby wearing- do not carry around a twenty pound baby in a baby björn for an extended period of time. your back will thank you! i am now in the market for a side sling, and i think i know just the place to get it :3 hooray for the great diaper hunt discounts! speaking of which, i have not received my sampler pack, which is quite unfortunate. i will have to email the moderator and ask her what gives.

anaïs had her first steak today! and a fine one to boot! this little angel is making me go crazy with her love *_*

hubby claims that i sleep way too much, to which i shrug and turn around to continue my snooze. i LOVE to sleep, just like 99.99% of people i know, and if i have a chance, i will take it. who knows if tonight i will not get any at all! at least i am prepared for any possibility!

if you mummy and daddys do not know, there is a series of music called rock a bye baby, and it features a lot of great lullaby renditions by such greats as smashing pumpkins, the beatles, pink floyd, björk, led zepellin, etc. i mean, it beats the usual brahms lullaby on those nights when you are about to lose your mind having to hear it one more time, haha!

anaïs has gotten into the habit of not wanting to fall asleep while she feeds. she had this down to an art, and it saved me some time to do mummy things. now she requires to be rocked, or placed on top of me to fall asleep, which was the case when she was itty bitty. it's adorable, nonetheless, i don't mind it, plus, it gives me a chance to feel her little heart beating close to mine <3

i have been attempting to learn to knit for about a week, and i believe the needles i bought are too small a gauge for my clumsy hands! i have been attempting and trying so hard, because i would like to knit her and the newborns some longsies for the winter :\ knowing me i'll get around to it once summer rolls in, because, gods know i'm the ruler of the procrasti nation!

random stuff #1 - contraception gone mad

#2

as a breastfed baby, my little dumpling is quite attached to me [no pun intended] and has been giving me quite a run for my money as far as food goes. part of the reason, i know, is because of her dentition [bka teeeeething], which, sadly, inhibits her from enjoying chewing because of the incredulous pain [remember your wisdom teeth?]. some days [rarely] she'll eat, but most of the time, it never fails. myself or the grandmum prepare her an AMAZING meal fit for a queen, full of healthy, nutritious bits and oh-so-scrumptious. either a.) she will take one....two....three....four spoonfuls, and that's it, or b.) she'll turn her head. both are frustrating, but the saddest one is the latter, haha.

well, today folks, she decided to eat! she had three square meals!!!! first course was after her morning nap, which she needed desperately [as well as mumma], after the previous night [seriously, staying up from 2-4 am, singing in the middle of the night and sitting up to play over, and over again, especially with me next to her, is tiring. the rocking chair is your friend, folks! but that's a different story altogether~]. well, her meal, again, she loved, it consisted of mostly white foods!!! haha, banana, an arepa [think corn patty, looking like a flying saucer. my family is venezuelan], and some yoghurt! second meal was after her afternoon walk [which i will get into shortly]- pumpkin soup, with yoghurt, a cracker, and a peach. and lastly, pre-bedtime, some pastina, and cranberries, numnum!

please forgive me for sounding dreadfully boring at that part, but i'm quite proud of her, considering she rarely eats!

ah yes, her afternoon walk. post-daylight savings has been my friend, because the time is best, now, after her last nap! the afternoons have been so crisp here lately, and it's hoodie weather! the neighborhood is so peaceful and full of children running after the icecream truck [suburbia!]. well, within my neighborhood there is a grand lake with houses all around. there are lots of flora and fauna [bunnies...ducks...GEESE]. four wretched geese are the perdition of the pond. you can hear them a mile away, baying proudly, flapping their wings, and scaring away the ducks. these awful creatures are the dismay of all who encircle the pond. they come out of nowhere, with their horrible sound, moving quickly towards you, hoping to scare you away.

i am not afraid of animals, and to say the least, these guys never bothered me. but today i just had this gut feeling and had a nice whacking stick at my hip, ready to plonk it over the head, shortly being attacked by peta fanatics for being "cruel". well, sure enough, as i approached their area, they came running, swooping at me with their obnoxious necks coursing about. i managed to scare away the two smaller ones by just walking by and ignoring them [as my usual manner], but the biggest male and the counterpart mate had no mercy on me this time. they stopped dead in front of me and would not move. i attempted to go around them, and they moved towards me, ready to strike. i poked the male with a stick, and he did not like it one bit, and started flapping his wings like if he was one big shot. i shrugged, picked up the stroller, baby and all, and stomped away, cursing the egg they sprung forth from.

well, today was quite exciting for this mummy, so cheers!

greetings readers, this will be another documentation of a stay-at-home-mom with a bit of time on her hands during baby's nap-time. i will attempt to make this enjoyable for both parents and non-parents; not focusing on silly little details and documenting everything, so you're safe. i will begin by boring you with details so this blog-reader-meet-author will be most simplest for you.

<* initialize details >

my name is carol, i am 27 and a first-time mom; somewhat obsessive-compulsive, and quite a germophile. i have been happily married for eight years with my first true love. i became pregnant under unplanned situations, which made it more fun and exciting than anything; everybody loves surprises!

my daughter anaïs is nine months old and is currently attempting to stand on her own. she has managed to stay unassisted, in midair, for about ten seconds at a time before falling on her bum. she is a big-time vocalizer, and a loudmouth at that. an overly happy child, thank goodness, that enjoys people over her playpen.

she is a cloth-diapered, co-sleeping baby; yes, another attachment parenting nut for you ^_^ it's quite fun, i highly recommend it! some say my methods mean madness, but i have a lot of time on my hands and love doing diaper duty and napping away with the little one.

i have been breastfeeding since day one, and both she and i enjoy this bonding. she is extremely picky as far as food goes and will go through spells of not eating for days on end. she is fine though, gaining weight steadily.

< / details >

now that we got that out of the way, the next posts should be a bit more entertaining! cheers!
